I hope they're not too muddleheaded. First, every once and a while I come across a failed power harness post and it always gets me to wondering. Is it advisable or a good idea to leave the 002 always on? I leave my desktop on as I've been told that it's harder on the puter to boot up and power down than to simply leave it on. Would that hold true also for the 002 mixing board? In other words the stress and big power up spike on the power harness. Or would leaving it on be too hard on other components, not to mention the possibility of an overheated unit? Second, I'm a little confused on defragging. The way I understand the threads is as follows: it's a good idea and advised to defrag your audio/project hard drive regularly. It is highly recommended to NOT defrag your C:drive where your applications reside. Is that correct? Or am I missing something. Again, sorry for the remedial nature of the questions. Regards, Wheels

RE: Two Questions...

not sure about the power off issue..I always turn my stuff off..but I'm using mbox and 001. I have read about cleaning the power harness connecters as a cure for some of those 002 issues. defrag ..If you have done nothing but add a few progs to your c drive then dfrag might not be nessecary and the dfrag prog will say so...but I defrag my drives regularly to keep HD seek time to a minimum. I don't think there are any issues with defragging the c drive. bb

RE: Two Questions...

back to the power harness-my second failure came after leaving the 002 on for 8 hours. It worked for the first few and was dead when I came back later.
