10K Raptor SATA Drives and PT LE

There seems to be some confusion recently. Digi has not qualified SATA drives for PT. A couple of posts have mentioned this and the posters seem to have been cautioned away from SATA drives of any RPM. However, several people have posted that they are running SATA 7200 and SATA 10K Raptor drives with no problems whatsoever. I was planning on building a dedicated DAW with both my OS and Audio drive being 10K Raptors. I don't need a lot of space on my record drive. I'd be shocked if I ever went over 5 GB with all my projects. I just wanted a faster seek time and higher RPM for edit density. Of course RAID would be disabled in the BIOS before ever considering loading on PT LE. Is anyone having problems with single or dual SATA drives? Is anyone using two SATA drives? Or will I be a pioneer? Cheers,

Sounds like you're not running a lot of simultaneous tracks, can't see why you'd need faster than 7200, and therefore don't need SATA at all. The need for 10k rpm starts at 24 tracks of 24/96, and the price on the drives will probably halve before 24/96 is fully supported in plug-ins anyway. 32 tracks at 24/48 doesn't even give ATA33 a workout (4.4MB/s).
