hola sorry if this is doubleposting.... here are my problems: - when i create folders the icons for the next tracks' folder settings disappear, as in not being able to create the last track in folder. the icon is gone. also in old projects, where folders already exist, the tracks' icons inside the folder are gone. the first icon is there (the one with arrow pointing down) but others not. what am i missing? - when i create an fx chain i can save it, but upon loading a chain nothing happens, just blank. i have to add fx separately from scratch... me wrong? got a relatively new xp installation, just installed reaper v.3 on top of 2.58 which worked ok. very much ok. but all in all: hail reaper!!! best pd -------- edit: installed R.3 on other xp machine = working fine, my pc gone stupit??

Sorry I'm a bit at a loss here. - Did you use any theming? - What's your OS? - Did you mess with the folder structure at some time? I ask because the only scenario that could explain both (disappearing fxchains and missing icons) is that you are using Vista, installed Reaper into "C:\Program Files\Reaper" and moved the user folders to that main program folder. If not, this could probably be remedied by removing the Reaper user folders as a last resort. Move the contents of [XP] C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\REAPER [Vista] C:\USERS\<username>\AppData\Roaming\REAPER to a safe place (in case you want to save custom actions, FXchains and so on) and re-install Reaper 3. Alternatively you could make sure that V2 is working properly and then moving the contents of these folders into your main Reaper 2.x program folder. Then install Reaper 3 and tell the installer to install it to a different location than Reaper 2.x. This way you have a parallel install of both versions. (See also )

got it!!! thanks tried out different themes --> older -->> voila, the folders are there again. then switched back to v3 theme and made it wider like you said. my screen was just "squeezed" thanks for the tips and sorry for false alarm *jumps into volcano feeling ultra dorky now* best pd ps.... the chains dont load running xp pro, sp2. haven't touched the folders. tried some themes, but i wouldnt know how to mess with them...
