what I would like to be able to do is to "freeze" location wise a track so that as I scroll down said track will stay in place but the remaining will scroll as usual. I often have the need to compare two tracks, currently that means moving a track or using screen sets , both clumsy. Freezing the location by perhaps having a location freeze button on a track would allow one to do this very quickly without messing with track order or setting up screen/track sets. thanks
Yep. Lock location + "split pane" would be very cool indeed! +1 Just think if you could lock the location of a track (or a few) at the top and maybe another at the bottom and still scroll the middle. Or how about simplifying a bit and just giving the user the ability to split the time line into two or more scrollable, horizontal sections? It might be a bit of a programming PITA... but it would be way cool. D
Two horizontal panes sounds OK, otherwise it could get ugly. ... but then you'll want two vertical panes too, so we can see two sections of the song .. and will all panes be scrollable both ways?
Could we kill two birds with one stone and make a native wave editor, that can move over or under the wave you want to compare it to, edit in the wave editor, at half screen, and the another using the old method. I think this would work if an option was available to sync the two horizontally.
