mbox- pci card usb?

OK, I know it's not supported, but has anyone had success hooking up an mbox to an add-on (pci) usb card? I have an older G3 now upgraded to a g4/500 but it has no "native" usb port. It does have one open pci slot... I would love to slap a usb add on in there, hook up the mbox to it if I thought it had a good chance of working. Things that are Not Supported often fall into one of four categories 1 doesn't work at all 2 works but is screwed up 3 works but there are No Guarantees 4 works just fine anyway So- has anybody tried this with an older mac?

Spend a couple hundred more and get an 001 instead. 8 analog i/o vs 2, 10 digital i/o vs 2, all inputs accessable simultainiously vs 2....the list goes on.... M-box is for those w/o PCI slots, go for the gusto, mate!!!!!!

>"4 works just fine anyway" If you do an Mbox DUC search, many folks have figured out Digi's "unsupported" systems. Personally, I've had the Mbox running on a Beige G3/333 Mini Tower working off a USB PCI card... There are others who have had different setups...

Again, I must mention the DUC search, my Mbox arrived in March 02, many of the "new" mbox owner's back than were trying all kinds of "unsupported" setups... For me, I installed the PT Le 5.2 on nearly all my machines (in house) & just fiddled w/ them, fm a couple G4 Cube 500s, to several different G3/G4 laptops. Funny story, while in the backyard recording with the Mbox & one of the Titaniums, I needed to get a cigar fm "The Shed", (the name my wife gave my home office), I decided to test it on my old G3/333 (server model)...it worked & it worked very well. However, if I can recall, most folks were having success w/ the "old" Dual usb keyspan, there were others, but please don't hold me to it...do a search man...
