I checked out this thread and that is way more sophisticated than anything I was planning so I'm thinking that this will fall way short of many user's expectations?

Okay well if the problem is how I perceive it in my earlier post then I will tidy up some stuff I'm currently working on and then get started.

RE: Delete unused items on exit

Well I have nearly finished the mods to MediaSweeper and currently I have allowed for :- Audio Files "<SOURCE WAVE" Video Files "<SOURCE VIDEO" Not having a full range of possible RPP files I would appreciate knowing (or getting copies of files) if there are other components indicated in the RPP file. While MediaSweeper has the capability to isolate user defined files if there are any usual other items let me know so I can build them into the app.

RE: Delete unused items on exit

I have added support for midi "<SOURCE MIDI" and "BANKPROGRAMFILE" The application and documentation are now available for download at Hopefully its proves useful to somebody. EDIT: In my haste to convert this application to suit Reaper I introduced a couple of annoying bugs (thanks dstdean). Those bugs have been corrected and I have also added an option to keep related 'reapeaks' files - ie ones which belong to the selected RPP file(s). Version 5.1 is available for download from Let me know what you think

Version 5.2 of MediaSweeper should be ready shortly. It has much improved support for Reaper and files included in RPP files plus muliple project support has some annoying bugs corrected. Many thanks to Mercado_Negro for his input and testing efforts. Will post when its ready. Edit: Ok version 5.2 of MediaSweeper is now available. It fully supports Reaper and and has improved multiple session file support for both Audition & Reaper. Download from And yes it is still donationware!

This is a Godsend Gentlemen! I was looking for something like this in Reaper and it magically appeared from these guys :) I have tested it COMPLETELY in different situations, with different file formats and everything run as expected! You can use it and trust on it, it won't delete what you don't want to delete :) It can even see all media files used in different projects in the same folder! Ahhh and last but not the least you can set which files to ignore when deleting (this is really useful in case you want to keep your .rpp-bak's). Great work Michael! Thanks for this application.

We have totally rewritten the installation package so if you had difficulty installing MediaSweeper before then download it now and enjoy!
