Hi, I just obtained a copy of *some film* and wanted to make a 2disc divx rip. However I'm not sure what to choose regarding sound. DVD decrypter showed the audio stream as 6ch which I assume means 6 channel, but when i used DVD2AVI and demuxed the track I got the following file: LOTR AC3 T01 3_2ch 448Kbps DELAY -83ms.ac3 Is it pointless me transcoding the ac3 to ~256kbit/sec when its only 2 channel anyway? Should I just use a stereo CBR mp3? Thanx Robin

RE: AC3 or MP3?

Obviously an illegal copy, as the movie will not be out until August.... I would encode to VBR MP3 @ 192kbps. 3 hours onto 2 CDs with 448kbps AC3 is not going to work out real well.

RE: AC3 or MP3?

look at the other tracks on the dvd, I am sure there is a 2channel track 3/2 means 6 channels read the text file the dvd ripper you used made, it will list all the tracks in it. here is what my fight club dvd says Code:
