Need help with running recorded track through guitar pedals and back into reaper

I have an Audient id14. I'm trying to run a recorded track from the output of my interface, into a reamp box, into guitar pedals, and then back into the DI of my ID14, and into a different track. How can I mute the track that's being output from playing in my headphones, while still having it output to the track that I'm recording to in such a way that I can hear it?

Are you sure you need the reamp box? Unless there's a ground loop related noise issue, it should work fine without the extra box. Just go line out>pedal>line in. Anyway, turn off Master/Parent send on the track that you're trying to "reamp". Set up a Hardware Send there instead. Set up the "receive" track the same way you would recording anything else you plug into your interface, armed for recording and monitoring.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. My problem is still the following: I'm running audio out of one track and recording that signal into a separate track through the pedals. Ok, so far so good, but I still can't figure out how to mute the track being sent in such a way that I can only monitor the new recorded track without thereby muting the entire output signal being sent to the pedals in the first place. I feel like I'm explaining this in the most convoluted possible way...
