Very poor review of new V70

MessageAuthor

Hi, Well, that distinct advantage that Volvo had is now lost. They can't even claim to have the biggest estate on the market!! So much for progress. Seems more like regression.. But then, what can you expect with fud at the helm! High cost mediocrity!! Des. . . ;)

RE: Very poor review of new V70

Hi, The Volvo 200/700/900 had an ace up their sleeve.. They may not have been the best driving experience (but then, it didn't take much to improve them either - roll on IPD roll bars!) but they were B-I-G. Plenty of room inside and ample room for huge loads. The biggest space available when the seats were down. AND a near square/oblong entrance, flat load area etc.. While the V70 is the successor to the 800 series it is Volvo's successor to the load lugging 900's.... And with debatable performance and ride it needs the large capacity. Which it hasn't got. Bit of a no-brainer then when you need a replacement load-lugger.. Not a Volvo! They no longer have that ace to play... Des. . . !

............and still they won't re-introduce the LPG powered version which is now like blue rocking horse shoes to find! Honda and Toyota have proved hybrids work because of their "effective" mpg rather than their green credentials, and all Goteborg can produce is the LNG version of which there ain't a credible source in t'North. Sorry Matthew, (my LPG V70 S ) you are going to do moon miles before you get replaced! Bhowani

I wouldn't exactly say that was a very poor review - middling maybe, but it never really slated it did it!

RE: Very poor review of new V70

I have had the final straw with my 3 year old V70 T , Its practically been rebuilt . On tuesday its going in again to the dealers for A.B.S malfunction , A/C not working , stuttering engine at all speeds, and still an annoying clonk it makes everytime you pull away , god knows how much that will cost ? The only good thing I can say is that when its all up and running its going before something else goes wrong and staying with my trusty 5 series diesel thats never missed a beat .Someone else can have the problem . Its a shame for me as i have had volvos for light years through many of the big estate ranges , good friends with all the chaps down at volvo , recently my second home and unfortunatly they are so nice down there but dont have a decent product to sell anymore . This is my penultimate post , my last will be how much it cost to put right and finally an advert . Good luck guys , I hope yours is a good one , then that probably unlikely if you are on this forum as most people are on here trying to sort out their own problems The Lone Chippy R.I.P
