Fades are not working PLEASE help

Hello all... My fade tool is not working , it makes the wave portion I select blue and doesn't change the volume. Is anyone having this problem? 10.4.3 g5 DP 2.0 2g ram PT7-002

is the channel selected to read? double check that.

I'm using the fade tool not the write mode thanks

A fade that is not Automated can only be created at the end or the beginning of a region. If you have to seperated the region, Trim the rgion to the Right of it so there is a Blank area to the Right, and select the part to fade and a little bit beyond the end of the region. Try your fade (out) then. It should work.

Please start with the steps in the sticky at the top of this forum, specifically those areas on trashing preference and database files.

I had this the other day and just a reboot solved it, it's like pro-tools suddenly gets confused about where it's writing it's fades to so they turn light blue as if they are offline. Weird, but it hasn't happened again. HTH Tom
