You should post in New A/V Formats (containers). Use VDubMod for converting to avi.

When you load the file in VDubMod click Streams-Stream list and look for the audio file - maybe for some reason it is disabled.

I am sure I miss something, but currently I am using a Mac and can not look at the Vdubmod. Hmm, if I remember correctly when the window pop with save as menues there should be also some options for audio. Look at it and select also Direct stream copy for audio

lol kawasakininja :D K, I help You! Start VirtualDubMod (VDM). Load Your MKV-file. Go to 'Streams\Streamlist' Mark the Audiofile and click on 'Demux'. Go to 'Video\Direct Stream Copy' Go to 'File\Save As...' Choose the AVI Container and hit Save. So You have a AVI without a Audio and the audiofile. If you want the Audio into the container reopen VDM (if You closed it...) Open the AVI. Go to 'Streams\Streamlist' Click on 'Add'. Choose the Audiofile. Click 'Ok'. Save again the AVI using 'File\Save As...' or press 'F4'. Say thx and visit my page if You want. cYa soon Avalon

Muxing from MKV to AVI is mainly based on hope, which is why AVI-Mux GUI does not yet support it.
