Hi all, Im currently trying to overdub a main backing track with a lead guitar part and a backing guitar. I am using Guitar rig 3 which is fine, but after i have recorded and saved the first part (backing track and lead guitar - including distortion and wah wah) when i come to record the backing guitar, the wah wah part is missing from the lead part i earlier recorded! if i put the wah on during playback of the lead part, it works? im sure i am making a simple mistake, but am new to recording and reaper. appreciate any help were possible Dan
Welcome dansage, if I understood your question correctly, I believe what you need to do is right-click on the record-arm button of your guitar track and choose "record output" (mono/stereo whatever option you wish) then record & viola!
Thanks for the help. Is that for all recordings? I think if memory serves, that it is the input im recording which unless i stand corrected, means that only the raw guitar signal is being recorded. Recording the output would make the system record the emulated effects from GR3 yes? cheers Dan
Awesome, thanks for that, ill try when i get home tonight. dan

The problem is that the wah movement is not recorded. So either you do as Syd Masters suggests and create an additional track for the MIDI that controls GR's wah (using a MIDI send to the original GR track), or you arm the wah parameter for automation, learn it to your controller and put it to one of the writing modes while recording.

ok, so i still cant figure out how to get the wah into reaper, and have no clue how to record the "effect" of the pedal. please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Open Guitar Rig's gui in reaper, click the wah pedal fader and then click on the box labeled "Param" at the top of Guitar rig's window. This will give you options for the last touched parameter. Choose "show track envelope". You can close the FX gui now. Click on the Automation button of the track and choose "write" mode for this track. Now the envelope should follow the movement of your controller (the pedal you use to control the wah). Record as usual. After recording, change the automation mode to "read" mode.
