you can damage the auto box reving it in park? what?!?! monkeh, mine does that in D and theres no drive atall. i dare say you could be looing for a new box mate!

some one confused with the 66 or 340 CVT there :-) on some of the later engines there is a rev limiter set to 4000 rpm when in park ...

so it cant hurt it then... lol ive had mine nearly to the redline while doing vairous things

i have AW-71 and AW-71 boxes, so they suffer the same then? coz if so then thats partly how i buggered it

Nope, just the german one! My old turbo had a ZF box, and it was brill - 2,500 rpm at 70mph!

Yep I posted ref this box a few weeks ago .we used a version of it on fork lift trucks and as said almost bomb proof. But "NEVER" rev in park, unless you have plenty of money LOL. One reason I bought my 740 GLE was because of the box [ and the fact it had only done 88,500 miles documented]. Dextron 2 is the correct fluid , and don't use additives. some can destroy the seals and clog the oil ways. Hope this helps. Regards Mike B

Having test driven the car, it sounds like gear whine on the output side of the box. However, you can get an ovrehaul kit from a place in the states (as usual, I mention a problem and my dad trawls the net for a solution!).
