Hi All, I'm Justin and I'm new. I'm trying to take wav tracks that I've imported from my BR-600 and use reaper to tweak them in order to put them back in the BR-600. I've got to the point where I have tweaked the track, rendered it to a new track and then exported that. however when I try to play that track in realplayer to check it out, it won't read the file. My import program also wont' read the file. Any ideas? Is it because I exported it as 24 bit instead of 16? Also, can someone tell me what all these REAPER PEAK Files are that have popped up in my folder? Thanks in advance, JC

Like Valem said, the issue is probably on your player's side. Look at the specs and match your render output to what the player is able to handle. The peak files are the graphic associated with each track that you have in Reaper. They are pretty small, but you will want to get in the habit of creating a new folder for each project you start or things will get out of hand in a hurry (good basic file/project management stuff). Oh, and welcome to Reaper.

thanks guys, that was the problem i think. another quick question: i've got a bunch of crap at the beginning of the track, mainly me shifting around in my seat. what is the best way to get rid of that? i tried reagate, but none of the settings seems to do it. thanks again for the tips JC

hmmm I split the tracks fine, and even found the fade-in handle, but I can't for the life of me find the volume handle! Can you point me to it? I assumed that you meant the horizontal line that is basically the signal trace? Thanks again, JC

Hover over the top edge of the audio clip until you see a double-headed arrow and an Item Volume pop-up; then click and drag down and you will see the volume value change and the waveform shrink in proportion. HTH
