I've got a LaCie firewire DVD-R drive to backup everything via Toast. Rock solid. SCSI is dead.

I can't recommend one, but I believe Fantom Drives makes a SCSI DVD-R.

why not just put a apple superdrive .... pioneer 103 or 104 internally on the ide bus ??? works great ... use it with retrospect.
