hi Santa came in and left a little extra for me this year (about time) so i'm taking the plunge for a 22" or 23" Apple Cinema Display or a Plasma Display my questions: 1. is anyone using a 23" around here? 2. is that extra inch (no pun intended) make a whole lot of difference? there's also a higher resolution on the 23" 3. with this in mind which one you guys would recommend? 22 or 23"? 4. is a Plasma Display a good option here? since with 2 of these Apple displays i'm already in Plasma prices range i'll be doing audio post, editing etc... and would need a good size monitor to look at. plus DVD playback, Xbox etc... of course the only bad things i read was that when it comes to see the PT Edit and plugins windows it looks kind of fuzzy and unreadable so with this in mind it would help to know what brand and model # are the right ones and Why i have exactly one week from today to get my display unit(s) together. what would be your suggestions? either: 1. (2) Apple Cinema Display 22" or 23" or 2. One Big Ass Plasma Display (42"/50") hope you'll have a killer 2003! regards, Charles

Hey not to be nosy, but whats the price on one of those? The reason I ask is: My parents just bought a 42 inch plasma TV, and I noticed it has a hook up for computer directly into it, and the grafix will be something like 1280 x 1024(not the best, but certainly good enough). I know they paid something like $3 or 4k for it at Costco, and last I remember, wasnt the Apple display around 2k? Im jsut saying maybe for a little more, you can get MORE SCREEN!!!!! But the apple sure does look nice!

hi bioforce and captain pants regarding the fund i'll be the one who will need one after i finish my studio, captain that's exactly what i'm talking about more screen real estate my concern is if that would be a viable solution and my computer could handle the task i can get the Apple Cinemas but for the price it would be pretty interesting to see it in a bigger screen. anyway let me know if you find anything more on the plasmas. regards, charles

well computer handleing the task wont be a problem I mean, as far as compared to your Apple you are thinking of getting. Once you set your computer to whatever resolution you want, you can use any size monitor you want, whether its 14inch or 60 inch! The video card will only output a signal, and the monitor will take that signal, and create upon what its given, so it wont be any more tasking to your system. Actually on occasion we have plugged my moms sytem into the Plasma, and she plays video games on the couch. She has a wireless mouse and Keyboard, so, she is about 15 feet away from the screen playing Tomb Raider. BIGGER BUNS AND BIGGER.... HEADLIGHTS. And the TV is in view of the street, lol, on occasion when I come home late at nite, Ill see the biggest projection of Spocks head through the windows.. funny funny funny.

Personaly, if it was me, i would save alot of money and just buy 2 really good sony 19 inch CRT monitors. I have worked on a 22" Apple display and its great but i dont think its work the money that it costs. After all we make music, not produce films so any good monitor will do just fine IMHO.

You can also do 2 19' LCDs for about 60% for the cost of the Apple Monitor.
