I am new to all this and I have tried my best to read every post, but I could have missed one or two as I have a slow connection, BUT I have been reading here a couple/three weeks at least. I use a dual PII Zeon 2 meg cache machine with 512 meg of ram running Windows 2000 service pack 2. I am using DVD2SVCD with TMPGEnc as CCE 2.5 is not supported by my processors( I emailed them questioning their specs: PII NOT supported and Xeon supported, paradox.)anyway I have sucessfully created 13 VCD's using the DVD2SVCD "suite". But now I have one that is kicking my BUTT. The DVD is disk 1 of the Doors set. I throw it in there and it finds the correct TS folder and the movie lenght but does NOT fill in the aspect ratio then hangs on "analyzing video please wait". I searched the Forum and the closest thing I have come up with is this thread: . That is exactly what my machine does. I have validated the disk by playing it in my player, I have paused it and tried it and I have played it then closed it and tried it. I have booted my machine and tried it(this is a very stable machine seldom requiring boots). There is not much log displayed (once it posted a key number).I am using a force ASPI that was required by a version of Nero a while back. This shouldn't matter if I have gotten sucessful cue bin files 13 times before, correct? I can put Terminator T2 in and it flies right through the analyzing screen almost so fast you can't read it. I can put disk 2 of the Doors set and it flies through as normal. This set was brand new and opened by me and the first time it was played was when I tried to rip it. Does anyone have any ideas, I am completely stumped. Thanks for reading this and have mercy on a new guy.

Have you tried to install a newer version of forceASPI? I know the rest of you stuff works but you never know unless you give it a try. Can you play the DVD in your DVD drive? You might be able o rip it using Smart Ripper. Just keep in mind that if you do use it then there is a chance that you will experiance some audio sync isues.

I have ASPI version 2.6, that is newest for Win 2k correct? And yes it plays in my dvd drive using my software player. I will try Smart Ripper, but everything I read says it is not going to work.

i usually use dvd decryptor in file mode.. then just grab the ifo with dvd2svcd i ran into that problem on my friends pc (win xp p4 1.9) it hung on analizing video using hte internal ripper .. but thankfully using the vstrip option(in dvd2svcd) instead worked fine

You're one of the lucky few that got SmartRipper to work, and props for that.. but I still would recommend you rip with internal routines, then vStrip, and only then SmartRipper as a last resort. Glad it worked for you :)
