I know in some aspect this isn't whut you want to do.... a nice error sound in something but! I have T-racks and I would like the digi to be able output the mastered audio.... not the 1/8" to 1/4 adapter I have been using..... I am still a newbie when it comes to macs.... so if it's something simple that I overlooked. It probably isn't the first and far from last ! if you have any ideas let me know

If you've installed the 5.01 (or even the 5.0) completely, there should be an option in the Sound control panel for either "built-in" or "digidesign". If T-racks can use Sound Manager (most mac audio software can), then changing the control panel to "digidesign" should send any sound output headed for the sound manager to the 001 outputs. I still have to re-boot when I want to change it back. It doesn't seem to switch back and forth without rebooting. ------------------ LW

Hello I have just purchased an MBox! Have installed LE and i also want to have my Digi output as the default for my mac as i have no apple pro speakers...basically i don't have the option in the sound control panel for selecting digi as the sound output..only have built in...what do i do? are there still items i need to install?

Thanks. But i still can't locate the Sound CDev required to select the Digidesign hardware for sound input/output on the mac, for playback of CD's or iTunes... The document says "In Mac OS 9.0 and higher, the Apple installer correctly places new and separate "Monitors" and "Sound" Control Panels in the System Folder." I am running OS 9.2.2 and cannot find anything in the "Apple Extras/Sound Control Panel folder" to put into the system folder. On the installer CD, there is a file called System Folder items, or resources which contains extensions which were not installed when i followed the instructions..could this be it? Please help

Ok, i found the Digidesign extension and dropped it into the control panels in the system folder and now all is well! I can hear the output of CD's ec.. on the mac aswell..Now, i am sure these questions are asked every day, but i searched to no avail... I have just configured my MBox (the diddy little fella)..and tested an LE session..on the demo session i created an audio track and recorded the output of my motif synthesizer..the input level was VERY LOW however.. can anyone offer settings advice here? I have the mbox recording at LINE - the synth output is pushed up high and it's output is set to +6db gain - i am guessing it's the computer (imac)???? i also recorded a midi track from the motif and that came through really well to my amazement!!! perfect level first time of asking.
