I've got a really kicking computer and after 2 or 3 plugs per track, my Digi setup starts to drag. Can anyone tell me how much more powerful a mix system is? Rough numbers? Is it really worth the 12 grand? I have an Athlon 1.4 ghz. After a couple of cool reverbs that thing grinds to a halt. I know the mix systems use internal cards to handle the work. Can a farm card be put into what I have to boost the power?

Reverbs are probably the most processor intensive plug-ins. They will suck your processor dry quick. I went to using outboard reverb just for that reason. The TC Electronics M300 is a great one to check out. After you get your reverb away from your processor you should be able to run up your plug-in count. Good luck
