Can I use reainsert to send a dry track to my hardware Lexicon unit and then back into Reaper? Thanks much for any help.

RE: Reainsert and my outboard reverb unit

Sure you can. Just throw it on your track, choose an unused hardware I/O for your send and return signal, let the plug calculate the appropriate latency value and you're good to go. I have my VVerb2496 hooked up through s/pdif and it works great! One thing to keep in mind: don't use your FX unit while tracking (because of the latency compensation) but plug it in when you start mixing. Good luck!

RE: Reainsert and my outboard reverb unit

Thanks! I'll give it a try. Any suggestions on the best way to do this via an M-audio Transit device? That's what I'm using for tracking when recording direct to Reaper. During tracking I usually monitor previously overdubbed tracks via analog output (I couldn't get Transit to do input and output at the same time) from my computer into a mixer channel on my old Roland 1680. Then I route the new source into Reaper via the 1680/Transit device. Thanks again for any ideas...

That's going to prove difficult I think... You really need at least two stereo outputs to be able to send the main mix to your monitors and the signal from your Reainsert to your FX unit. You could get maybe away with one input but obviously it would be unavailable for input once you use it as your return path for Reainsert. Btw I have briefly used a Transit and imho it is really only suited for decent quality playback on a laptop, and not for music production, so I would definitely consider an upgrade to a multiple I/O card!
