You can cut the highs, or cut the lows. Parametric lets you cut (or boost?) a hole in the middle right? Q adjusts the size of the hole right? Regarding the EQ that is on Pro Tools, is a larger Q number a bigger hole or smaller hole or what?

the higher the Q, the smaller the BANDWIDTH of boost or cut

RE: What is Q in a parametric?

Q (Quality factor) is a ratio of center frequency to bandwidth. Q = Fc / B = Fc / (F2 - F1) For example, if center frequency is 141Hz Bandwidth is 100Hz (100Hz ~ 200 Hz) Quality factor will calculated as refer to "1" Measurement in Q (b/c it is Ratio) Therefore, the narrower bandwidth, Q is increased, that means you can cut or boost more specific frequency range.
