So, just got the rig up and running (MixPlus on 400Mhz B&W) and seem to remember that I'm supposed to reformat the Cheetahs (2 9 gigs) with FWB. How can I check what's on the drives now, what should be on them, and what FWB software version should I be using to get them the right drivers? If you don't mind, email me directly so I'll see it ASAP. Thanks. Thanks, Brian Steckler Hear, Inc

Hi Brian. I'll email you as well, but just in case this is helpful to others... To check what drivers are on your disks, select the icon for the disk (don't open it), and do Get Info (CMD + I). Under "Where" in the Get Info window, you'll see the name and revision of the driver, for example, "FWB 3.0.2". You should have received FWB Hard Disk Toolkit PE version 3.0.2 with your Pro Tools software (assuming you recently purchased your Pro Tools system). If your drives were initialized with an earlier version of HDT, you can just update the drivers with 3.0.2. If all of your data is backed up, there's no harm in re-initializing your drives. It'll ensure you are starting out with a clean directory structure and clean drivers. There is no need to low-level format your drives. ------------------ --Steve Rosenthal, Digidesign ETS

Async is normal. It has to do with OS transactions, not SCSI bus transactions. I'll also answer your ATTO set up questions here later (very busy now). ------------------ --Steve Rosenthal, Digidesign ETS
