Update on REAPER for MIDI OUT?

Hey there. Next week, I'm borrowing a bit of MIDI gear next week from a good friend of mine, a couple of akai samplers and some synths with MIDI in as well. I've never tried sending MIDI out of REAPER to hardware synths or whatever, but I remember last time I asked about it, a lot of people were saying REAPER's MIDI out was fairly sloppy, and not upto scratch. (in terms of timing, tightness and missed notes) can anybody update me on this, and their experiences? many thanks :) Louis.

RE: Update on REAPER for MIDI OUT?

I have no doubt that setting up the MIDI out should work fine. sorry, i should've actually mentioned in my previous post I was more interested in the tightness of the timing and stuff, that's what i mean by being sloppy. obviously the MIDI timing won't be as tight as say an Atari to the hardware synths, but I was interested in knowing people's experiences with REAPER and its timing.

I know that a lot of work went into fixing this last year, so that should be fine now. I don't have any personal expericence with that either though, all my vaccum cleaner sims are ITB nowadays. :)

I'm currently driving an EMU Orbit externally. No perceptible lag here.

I've actually had this problem, but I somehow managed to solve it thru some settings in preferences. i believe i had the "restrict midi output to one thread" ticked earlier..?
