Ok, so I wipe my system, reformat my hard drive on both my Desktop and Laptop. I have not completed my desktop but my laptop is done.... I reinstalled GK fully, and still the same problem. I cannot figure out what happened. When you go to set resolution the number next to the load button % is blank. for some reason this causes the program to not run correctly. it is looking like I will have to stop using GK because I cannot get it fixed.... I have run out of ideas...
I thought of that...but no. I have run them and nothing ever shows up in that box. I am not doing anything different then I was before but all the conversions come out 250mb or less instead of near 700mb. this happens no matter what movie I try. I have even tried running the compressability test then hitting the load and loading it but nothing.... ???
you know, come to think of it, that is probably when it started was about the time I installed 5.02. I hope your right. I would hate to have to go back to using Fair Use after all this time. It did the job great but I had a cd take 30 hours to complete.....
I checked out GK. I am running 26 but it only has a selection for divx 3 and 5. I don't remember if it installs divx 4? plus it is not like you are going to have the option of uninstalling it in the add/remove area. Maybe systemworks can find it.
The Gknot install process (full install, then upgrade) includes DivX 4 in that initial install. The order of steps is important. If you installed Gknot *after* installing DivX5, there is the possibility you overwrote the DivX5 codec with DivX4 data. If so, reinstalling DivX5 should eliminate the problem. You can also check your list of codecs and de-install any via the Multimedia applet in the Control Panel. Click on "Sounds and Multimedia" or "Multimedia", then "Hardware", then "Video Codecs".
