Sampling? Recording a sound to use on the keyboard?

Focusrite Scarlett 2i4. It says in the manual you can use computer speakers, among several other options, but I haven't been able to get it to work yet.

How do you like the Focusrite 2i4 in general? When I was looking around, considering which audio interface to buy, it seemed the best option. Well, I've tried many different setups. In all of them, the Focusrite is connected to the computer using the USB cable that came with it. I have tried using output #1, the balanced one, connecting a TS guitar cable to a Marshall amp. I then connected a mic to input one, using another TS cable. With this setup, I could hear the mic through the Marshall amp, but I couldn't hear any audio from the computer (tried youtube, VLC player, REAPER). I have also tried connecting RCA cables from the high pitch computer speakers to outputs 1-4 (unbalanced). I have also tried taking a single thin cable from the computer speakers' bass speaker (going to all three speakers) and connecting it to a transforming sort of.. thing which made it bigger, TS size, and then connecting that to outputs 1, then 2, (balanced). Have also tried taking two RCA cables from an amp which was then connected to TV speakers, and connecting those to outputs 1-4 (unbalanced). No sound whatsoever.

Hm, I'm not sure how else to explain it. But no, I haven't connected it to anything else other than different kinds of speakers and amps, so I don't think I've done any damage to it. Maybe it's just malfunctioning and has been from the start, I dunno. I've contacted Focusrite as I've tried everything I can come up with so now I'm just waiting for their reply.

Realised it could be the the laptop, and tried another computer and guess what.. it works just fine. Might have to send the laptop back: the first one I ordered I had to return cause of the touch-pad being broken from the start, so I wouldn't be surprised if this one is also faulty. Thanks for the replies everyone!

Not sure how to describe the steps I took but I ended up using these things (see attachment) in order to get it to work. It's probably not the 'right' way but it works somewhat - there is only sound in the bass speaker and one of the treble speakers, not both treble speakers.
