RE: Sampling? Recording a sound to use on the keyboard?
There's a nice 'free' sampler available here... . This should get you started. Also check YouTube for some video tutorials for the tx16wx. Enjoy.
RE: Sampling? Recording a sound to use on the keyboard?
Something along those lines, yes DarkStar :P I've downloaded TX16Wx but when I search for the installed files to put them into REAPER (like I've done with other VSTis) I can only find the setup file and a couple of user guides.. I've installed it several times over. I've tried just opening REAPER and look for TX16Wx in the VTSi library without moving any files but of course it's not there.. Not getting any further at the moment. Does anyone know what the problem is?

When you ran the installer, one stage lets you pick the destination folder for the plug-in. You need to make sure that that folder is included in the plug-in path list in Reaper's Preferences. Find out where the plug-in is (do a Search of your disks), then add that folder path to the plug-in path list. Then click [Rescan]. Also, let us know where the plug-in was installed and what you have in the plug-in path list.

Thanks, I forgot to look where the destination folder was. I found the file now and could put it in the REAPER FX file and now it works. Before I did search the disks but only the setup and a few user guides showed up, nothing else, that's what you get for using such a fantastic OS as Windows 8.1 I guess.. I'm not sure what a plug-in path is, do you mean where it was installed? If so, that's C:\program files\steinberg\vstplugins. Again, thanks! I feel like such a newbie haha.
RE: Sampling? Recording a sound to use on the keyboard?
^^^^ Yes, that is what I meant. All you need now are some files to load into TX16Wx. ;) suleiman did a drum kit, here: TX16Wx will load .sfz files too. Or, as you said in your first post, you can map your own samples. PS: If you want a different skin, try "Orange Zest": from here ;)
RE: Sampling? Recording a sound to use on the keyboard?
Thanks for the reply. I've managed to record some sounds in TX16Wx but I can't take it any further now as I can't get any amp or speakers to work with the audio interface, so I can't listen to what I've recorded.. In the manual (for the interface) it says you can use a variety of speakers etc, I've tried computer speakers, TV speakers with an amp, a Marshall guitar amp but no luck. Is this a common problem, do I need to buy studio monitors even if it says in the manual that I don't? :
