hi, i'm a new Digi001 owner and am using it in this configuation:500mhz Pismo 256 RAM 12 GIG,Magma 2-slot PCI Expansion Chassis,Digi001.i have tried recording to my system drive,a VST 9 GIG internal expansion bay drive, and a Maxtor 80 GIG Firewire Harddrive but i cannot record more than 2 tracks at a time to any of these drives without a DAE error-9060 or -9063. anybody out there who can suggest some good affordable (under $500) harddrives that get high track counts with similar setups??? thanks in advance.
BB07 Check out the digi specs for supported hard drives on this site. I'm not familiar with your hard drives mentioned above but the main feature you need is a 7200 rpm audio drive. If you have 5400 rpm it's too slow. Also don't record to the system drive, record to the second drive which should be dedicated to audio. If you already have a 7200 rpm audio drive then you need to get out the system installation guide and check your settings step by step. Good Luck Bob
Using Magma w/scsi ultra wide with seagate cheetah 9 gig- under 500- Sometimes get error -9073 if settings aren't just right. Other than that, very happy!
Reading the Magma 2 slot PDF I noticed the following quote: "The 2 Slot system supports two full-length PCI cards and includes mounting brackets for a maximum configuration of (2) 1" hard drives or (1) 1.6" hard drives." I can't find any 1" or 1.6" hard drives at Seagate or IBM's web pages. IBM list a 2.5" drive but thats the closest I have seen. I require assistance. Im looking at a SCSI Seagate to install in Slot 2 Magma. The Magma will also have a Digi001 installed and connected to my G3 PB. Any info appreciated. Targon
