I know that this has been discussed before but it's been a while and I thought I'd ask again. Is there a way to use an iMac with the DIGI-001 system (I have a new twist on this listed here). How about networking a PC and the iMac in its own domain, installing the DIGI001 hardware on a PC (used as a server) and control it with the iMac. The PC becomes the file & print server (with a LaserJet) and the iMac is a workstation running software. Is this possible? I'd be willing to dedicate a P4 system (or P3), add a CD-RW on it and just use the iMac since I already have it and the P4. Anyone been down this road??? Thank you!!

I know the digi 002 isn't out yet but that uses a firewire interface. The way you describe running the 001 sounds like your gonna have a massive amount of heartache to get it running smoothly and surely you could buy a second-hand G4 400 for the price of the imac, the PC and all of the peripherals you're gonna need.

The thing is I already have the iMac and I'm not using it for anything. I have an extra P3 system which I upgraded from a P2-333. It would cost very little (as I also already have a DIGI-001). I haven't read anything on a DIGI-002 but if it's coming out in Firewire, I'll sell the -001 and upgrade to the -002. What is the ETA on the -002?
