How do I keep the files not going to the desk top and is there a way to not have them also show up in my doc files? I did not realize they were all copying when I do not SAVE them... its frustrating to have to delete each and every one of them later :/ Did I overlook something? I also noticed they were just my guitar tracks not with the media file that I inserted on the first track. Thanks Ed

If you start by saving your project, Reaper will store all your recordings in the project folder, . For unsaved projects, Reaper will store recorded media in the folder set in Preferences > Audio Recording, And while you're at the wiki, be sure to pick up the excellent user guide, it tells all you need to know and much more...

firstly before starting a song. i create a folder in a songs directory with the name of the song. then upon reaper load i point reap at the newly created folder doing a save as. so lets say the song is called "the reaper bop".. the folder is named "reapbopv1" in case i want to do different versions. i make sure the recording path points to the folder. so lets say youve done 5 songs. there would be a distinct folder for each of the 5.
