to my understanding, 10.2.7 only runs on the G5, and not on the G4. it was a specially tuned release for the G5 until Panther came out. If you're taking about 10.2.6, I find 8 a little more speedy, although I am still getting kernel panics (and yes, I am on the second, revised version) when trying to connect to remote servers. but overall, 8 is much smoother!!

Thanks for the input cliepe12. And as for the OSX version 10.2.7(6R55) that is what is shown as the operating system when I am in Apple System Profiler. So I'm not sure what the deal is there.
