Hi I have an 1993 940 with the B230FD engine. Which recently have started to lose power. Slower acceleration than normal Hunting idle when loaded uphill suddentotal loss in a second or less. CAn this have something to do with Mass air flow sensor to do Ca this have something with the Throttle Positioning Sensor to do The car has changed fuelpumps about 40k km ago together with fuel filter I would appreciate any comment or recommendation Jan-Erik

I am not familiar with the B230FD. However it seems that it is time to thoroughly clean and check/reset the components that make up the inlet tract from air filter to throttle housing and including the Idle Air Control Valve. The connections can succumb to corrosion and should be carefully cleaned. Be careful with the Mass Air Flow sensor and only clean with a spray cleaner to avoid damage to the very fine wire elements inside. Check the OBD for fault codes before you start as they can often point to the most troublesome items. Let us know wheter you have success or not so that we can provide more help if necessary. check the obvious first. loose plug caps, worn distributor and or rotor arm. you could try putting some injector cleaner in the fuel tank and running it for a while. I know you said its sluggish but give it a go. its probably the cheapest option but likely to cure it. good luck. Ty
